Confidence and I Am statements will help you be fearless
Confidence is a vital part of being fearless and so is knowing who you are!
On this blog today, I feature one of the best at being fearless of all time, Nancy Lieberman who is;
- The second female assistant coach in NBA history
- An American All-Star basketball player and coach
- Helped lead the US to an Olympic gold medal in 1975 and;
- Silver US medal in 1976
Also the first woman to:
- Try out for the MBA
- Play in a professional men’s league
- Play against the Harlem Globetrotters
- Participate in the Harlem Globetrotters world tour
Nancy’s story is incredible, and fearless is the best word that describes Nancy!
She realized at a young age that she needed to become and be known as fearless. Her story starts at a young age when her parents were always fighting and headed for divorce. Nancy kept a coat by the front door at all times, and when the arguing started between her parents, she would grab her coat and run down to the park. Once at the park she took part in baseball, football, and basketball with the boys.
Playing sports with the other kids brought her joy, and a lot of happiness, helping her escape the challenges going on at home. However, this is where she knew she had to be tough physically, mentally, and emotionally to be accepted into playing these games.
At the young age of 7, Nancy needed to be needed. So she became fearless to the point where the boys wanted her on their team. She knew she had to prove that she could play with the best of them. These challenges started her in amazing basketball career.
My gosh, there are so many more details to this story, and you need to listen to her unbelievable story in this interview below:
Relationship Marketing in today’s world
Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Building relationships in life and business has become recognized as more important than marketing itself!
I Am Statements and believing in them
I teach a lot about ‘I Am Statements’ in my personal development course ‘The I Am Blueprint Workshop.’
These statements are known as affirmations, or as I call them ‘I am statements.’ Statements about what you desire in life and how to speak the right language to oneself to subconsciously bring your desires to fruition.
When I asked Nancy to share what she feels about this subject, she filled in the blank as ‘I Am deaf.’ Don’t listen to negativity; PERIOD!
Bullies in her life wanted to taunt and make fun of her, but beyond choosing to be deaf to the noise, Nancy had 3 simple, yet powerful steps she took to achieve her remarkable goals:
- See it
- Say it
- Be it
Avoid the ‘mind monsters’ as Nancy puts it.
Undeniably we live in a world of critics. Anytime someone is trying to accomplish their goals and no matter how successful someone is, there is always a critic with something negative to say. Especially on social media, somebody always has an opinion and more than likely not a very good one.
How to build self-confidence, stay fearless and focused by avoiding the noise
Nancy teaches; be disciplined at:
- putting yourself around good people
- staying mentally strong
- believing in yourself
- loving yourself
- choosing to be kind to people
- being a positive force in other’s lives
- doing your job
- being firm but fair
- being 100% prepared
- earning respect
“The greatest love of all is inside of me, so what can I do to make someone’s life better” -Nancy Lieberman-
