Marketplace Passion Creates Success

Having a passion for what you do creates:

  • Energy
  • Excitement
  • Ability

To focus and accomplish projects, which comes from doing what we love, not only as entrepreneurs but as employees as well!

In the interview above, you’ll notice that Meridith uses two words a lot in conjunction with the economy:

  1. Uncertainty
  2. Thrive

And she uses them together Thriving’ in ‘Uncertain’ times.

Indeed, Meridith has strength in helping clients navigate their way through uncertainty.

It’s true, no one is immune to economic downturns. For example, little did both Meridith and I know that our entire schedule would come to a halt in the first quarter of 2020, and how long it would last in our economic system. After experiencing the Pandemic, our business model of putting on or speaking at live events completely evaporated. Consequently, forcing us to become experts out of necessity. That is to say, taking an obstacle and turning it into an opportunity to generate revenue in 2020.

I’m sure it comes as no surprise that everybody worldwide has experienced in some shape or form the fear and uncertainty of this Pandemic. Thereby, facing monumental shifts in their business plans. However, when your passionate about what you do, your energy and excitement will help you adjust and make changes necessary to continue without fear.

Challenges Companies Are Facing in this Economic Marketplace

I asked Meridith what some of the challenges of those she is working with during this difficult time are.

Her response was, “I feel like a lot of the challenges people are facing are a lot the same.”

She feels as though people fall into one of two camps…

  1. Either they are stuck and don’t know what to do.
  2. Grasping at straws and doing so much that they are inefficient.

Furthermore, she says:

“The first thing one needs to understand is that everything about the marketplace has shifted. Strategies that were once implemented are not working, and if they are, then people are working way too hard on a business plan that has now shifted, and it’s not necessary to work that hard.”

“Change is like a muscle, and you need to build it and work it.” ~Meridith Elliott Powell~

So, the more you talk about change, the more comfortable you’ll be when it takes place.
