Philanthropy is a 3D process to give of oneself and in finding joy.

Charity is about discovering who you really are and then giving yourself away to the world and everyone you meet.

Barry Shore is a perfect example of this and which I feature on my blog today…

Unexpectedly, in September 2004, Barry developed quadriplegia overnight from a rare disease. His journey to regain mobility pushed him to Go MAD (Make A Difference). In the process of recovering from full paralysis, Barry has become an avid swimmer, and he swims 2 miles per day six times per week and has accumulated more than 7,503 miles over 12 years.

Barry’s mission is to transform the world through JOY. His forthcoming book: STRESS KILLS … JOY Heals reveals 11 Strategies for LIVING in JOY, daily.

Hence, with that mission, www.BarryShore.com and The JOY of LIVING Institute were born.

Furthermore, he attracted the talent to build systems that enable people to GIVE money to their favorite Cause, and Oprah wrote about this in her Magazine. The goal is to give one billion dollars by making every day giving effortless and meaningful.

Impressively, Barry is the  Founder of the:

His podcast has over One Million Downloads in its first year.

Listen in as Barry shares his 3D process of when and how he decided to let down all barriers to become his genuine self to give himself away to the world…

Finding Joy Through Stress

First off, I want to express my gratitude and thank you for taking the time to visit my blog every week to sharpen your saw, striving to do better in your business, personal life, and the world as a whole.

My blog and podcast are focused on relationship marketing, whether it be for personal or business. Relationship Marketing is about the first-word Relationship, and when relationships are the priority, the marketing takes care of itself!

To make the world a better place, we need to be at our best; this is when we can change the world!

In the video above, Barry explains how the first Relationship you should care about is Relationship with yourself. Some might think of this as selfish. However, if you’re not your best you, it’s near impossible to be an authentic charitable giver or give genuinely to philanthropy.

Barry also notes that the fear of a pandemic (at the time of the interview above) caused the call for “social distancing,” which couldn’t have been more wrong and should have been called “physical distancing.” Reason being that in times like a pandemic, it’s critical to continue socializing and not be paralyzed by fear!

Barry shares how paralysis comes in many forms, such as:

  • Physical
  • Mental
  • Spiritual

For sure, paralysis happens when we succumb to fear.

Look, no matter what challenge one faces, it’s possible to live in joy!

Think about what Barry calls the 3 T’s:

  • Toxins: Negative things we put in our minds from TV, Social Media, and the internet, etc.
  • Trauma: Caused by the toxins we ingest into our minds.
  • Thoughts: The remedy that’s far more powerful than the toxins and trauma we experience.

Take a look at Barry’s 3D process for becoming your best self:

  • Decision: Decide to stop ingesting poison into your mind.
  • Discipline: Leave harmful activities behind
  • Determination: No other option accept success

Lastly, finding joy throughout the fear and poison; is all about thinking positively and where philanthropy starts; With yourself.

In the words of Barry Shore, go MAD, go make a difference!

Thanks for joining me,

Kody B.
