Attitude impacts so much in life, especially work-life. No matter the industry, or work you do, it’s hard to find “how to be happy” 100% the time. Now, imagine how leads and prospects feel when you’re in a negative headspace.
Fortunately, I was able to interview Jen Gluckow, a ‘rockstar’ on this very subject!
Jennifer has northeastern smarts and New York City savvy – a rare combination that has her positioned as the next big thing in sales. Okay, she’s not ALL New York. Positive Mental Attitude
I’m certainly impressed at your commitment to learning the philosophies of having a positive mindset. Attitude is almost always aligned with how happy we are. However, I’m sure you’ll agree, it’s near impossible to be happy 100% of the time.

- Relationships
Consequently, a positive mental attitude is hard to achieve in today’s world due to 87% of what we see and hear is negative. Finding ways to flush negativity out and replace with positive is imperative, not only for your personal life but your work-life as well.
Above Jen Gluckow taught us that we must “nourish our subconscious!”
Creating a routine that starts from the minute you wake in the morning, to seconds before your head hits the pillow each night is key to having a:
- Positive attitude
- Service mindset
- Healthy mind and soul
- Prosperous business
- Happy attitude
Jen suggests starting with a vision board. These are so powerful!
Vision boards are comprised of pictures, images, quotes and such, that create or manifest our desires into our life and business. Once created, find a place to put the board where you can see it on waking in the morning and before you go to bed at night.
Talk about a great way to start the day. Not to mention, replace the negative we see and hear throughout the day with the positive we need to be happy and most importantly get better sleep.
Core Actions or Fundamentals for Success in Sales
Intentions combined with goals (those on your vision board) will lead you to the actions needed to achieve success. Vision boards are a tool that will help you manifest what you want, but the keyword here is ACTION if you want to achieve your goals!
Actions must correlate with building relationships!
Obviously, we can’t have success or build a business without people and it’s your responsibility to create leads by building relationships … period! Positive mental attitude comes in here because mindset affects every action we take and everything we do.
Most importantly, when meeting with leads and prospects, remember to focus on building a relationship not getting a customer because there is a difference. People can feel your intention and attitude. Building a relationship with new leads makes them an extension of your sales team. By this I mean they organically send you referrals.
Here are some core action steps or fundamentals needed to build relationships:
- Wake up
- Decide you want to help someone
- Figure out how to help them
- Build the relationship
- Help them
- Serve them
- Thank by follow-up
This, my friend, is taking control of your sales leads! Now you get to reap the benefits of referrals and testimonials making these new leads, prospects, and customers an extension of your sales team.
